Tree of life planted in memory of late Prof. J.Y. Poku

The alumni and management of the hall joined by friends and family of the late Prof. J. Y. Poku planted a tree to commemorate him. Prof. Poku was the 17th Hall Master between 2002 and 2006. The tree named “tree of life” was meant to celebrate the managerial and scholarly achievement of the Prof. Poku whose tenure brought about developments in the hall. In his remarks, the Hall Master, Prof. Roger A. Atinga recounted the immense contributions of the late J. Y. Poku noting that his book titled – tutorials in inferential statistics, helped him and many other students excel in statistics related courses, and it was appropriate to honour. He added that the tree complements ongoing greening agenda in every part of the hall to improve on environmental quality and students residential experience. 

The alumni Vice-President, Mr. Nana Amo Boamah Adade highlighted that the tree symbolised efforts to imortalise the works of Prof. Poku who carefully balanced professional and managerial responsibilities to the advantage of the hall. Mr. Kobby Poku son of the late Prof. Poku, on behalf of the family thanked the alumni, hall management and friends for honouring his father.
