New JCR Executives Take Office for the 2025/2026 Academic Year

A new leadership of the Junior Common Room (JCR) has been sworn into office following a successful election. The oath of office was administered by the Hall’s Chief Justice (Moses Asirifi). This marks the fourth consecutive all-female executive body since the introduction of the new residential policy.

The six-member executive team comprised Nana Yaa Agyeman (President), Deborah Mantebea Darko (Vice President), Esther Wiredu (General Secretary), Jessica Apegyine Yinimi (Organising Secretary), Abena Lattebeah Koomson (Financial Secretary), and Rose Boakyewaa Opare (Sports Secretary).

Speaking on behalf of the Executive body, Miss Nana Yaa Agyeman expressed profound gratitude to the Hall Management and the entire student body for entrusting them with the mandate to serve. She pledged to serve with diligence and uphold the Hall’s cherished values of Knowledge, Honour, and Service. Miss Agyeman further noted that her administration would be guided by transparency, accountability, innovation, and teamwork, emphasizing a commitment to inclusive governance that provides equal opportunities for all students to serve.

“Leadership is about service — listening, learning, and working together for the good of all,” she remarked.

The outgoing executives used the occasion to reflect on their tenure and highlight key achievements. They expressed appreciation to Management, staff, and students for their support and presented citations of appreciation to the Hall Management. As part of their parting gesture, they donated 20 plastic chairs and a canopy to support JCR activities.

In his remarks, Dr. Daniel Darko, the Senior Tutor, commended both the incoming and outgoing executives for their dedication to the growth and welfare of students. He urged the new team to build on the strong foundation laid by their predecessors and to lead with unity, innovation, and integrity.

The event was well attended by Hall Management, staff, and students, marking a vibrant celebration of leadership, service, and renewal.
