Dominant vikings shine at 2024 UG cross-country competition

It was a historic day for the Vikings once again as they showed their prowess in the 2024 University of Ghana inter-halls cross-country competition. The gallant ladies set a new record by being the first to win the first to sixth positions from a single hall in the competition. Ten ladies from Mensah Sarbah Hall participated in the competition. Naomi Addo defended the title in 38 minutes 44 seconds. Agyei Elizabeth and Duah Sarah came second and third respectively, while Stella Agbokpah came fourth. The fifth and sixth positions were won by Rajvir Rai and Priscilla Mawusi Anaglo. The team presented the trophy to Hall management led by the Hall Master, Prof. Roger A. Atinga, who thanked them immensely for the great show of sportsmanship. He encouraged them to go higher with this winning mentality. He also advised them to cultivate unrelenting training ethics and aim to represent Ghana at international events such Olympic Games, Commonwealth Games and All African Games. The Hall Master also thanked the Sport Committee Chair, Dr. Yvonne Agetsoamedo, the coaching team led by Mr. Petras Anaab Ali and the sports secretary Portia Madugu for providing technical support to the team.
